Terms and Conditions
Governing the use of services provided by Yeti Hikes Pvt. Ltd.
Booking and Acceptance
A booking may be made through the Yeti Hikes website, email, WhatsApp, telephone, social media, or other authorized communication channels. A booking becomes confirmed when:
- The Client has accepted the applicable itinerary and price;
- The required booking information has been provided;
- The required advance payment or deposit has been successfully received; and
- Yeti Hikes has confirmed the booking.
Submitting an enquiry or booking request does not guarantee availability until the Company provides confirmation. By confirming a booking, the Client agrees to comply with these Terms and Conditions, the applicable Booking, Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy, and any specific conditions included in the Client's quotation or booking confirmation.
Accuracy of Client Information
The Client must provide accurate and complete information required for the successful operation of the trip. This may include: full name, passport details, nationality, date of birth, contact details, emergency contact information, travel dates, flight information, dietary requirements, accommodation requirements, and other information required for permits or travel arrangements.
Yeti Hikes shall not be responsible for problems arising from incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by the Client.
Trip Prices and Services
The price of each trip is based on the itinerary and services specified in the quotation or booking confirmation. Depending on the package, services may include accommodation, meals, trekking permits, national park and conservation permits, TIMS, licensed guides, porters, transportation, domestic flights, airport transfers, hotel accommodation, equipment, sightseeing, and other services expressly stated as included.
Services not specifically stated as included are excluded from the package price and shall be paid for separately by the Client.
Payments
Payments must be made according to the payment schedule communicated by Yeti Hikes. The Company may accept payment through online payment gateway, credit or debit cards, bank transfer, or other payment methods approved by Yeti Hikes.
Online payments may be processed through GETPAY using Yeti Hikes' merchant/payment facility associated with NMB Bank. A 4% online payment/service charge may apply to eligible payments made through the online payment gateway.
Government Fees and Price Changes
Government authorities, airlines, hotels, transportation providers, and permit offices may change their fees or charges including permit fees, government taxes, aviation charges, fuel costs, accommodation rates, and transportation costs. Where such increases occur after a booking has been made and cannot reasonably be absorbed within the original price, the additional cost may be payable by the Client.
Itinerary and Trip Changes
Yeti Hikes makes reasonable efforts to operate trips according to the confirmed itinerary. However, the Company reserves the right to modify, reroute, postpone, shorten, extend, or otherwise alter an itinerary when reasonably necessary due to weather, trail conditions, altitude, natural disasters, flight disruptions, road conditions, government restrictions, safety concerns, health emergencies, political or civil disturbances, local conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Where reasonably possible, Yeti Hikes will provide an appropriate alternative arrangement. Any additional cost resulting from a Client-requested itinerary change may be payable by the Client.
Weather and Mountain Conditions
Mountain conditions can change rapidly and may affect trekking routes, transportation, accommodation, flights, and other travel arrangements. The Client acknowledges that trekking in the Himalayas involves inherent risks associated with high altitude, extreme weather, snow, ice, landslides, avalanches, rockfall, uneven terrain, remote locations, limited medical facilities, and other natural hazards. The Company does not guarantee specific weather conditions, flight schedules, trail conditions, or access to any particular location.
Safety Instructions
Clients must take seriously and follow reasonable instructions given by trek leaders, guides, Sherpas, local authorities, medical professionals, and other authorized personnel. Safety-related decisions made by the trek leader or authorized Yeti Hikes representative shall be final where necessary to protect the Client or other participants. Yeti Hikes shall not be responsible for consequences resulting from a Client's deliberate refusal to follow reasonable safety instructions.
Health and Fitness
Clients are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically fit to participate in their selected trip. Certain trips may involve strenuous physical activity and high-altitude trekking. Clients should obtain appropriate medical and travel advice before participating in demanding trekking or adventure activities.
Altitude Sickness and Medical Emergencies
Altitude sickness and other health conditions can occur during high-altitude trekking. If a Client becomes ill or injured, Yeti Hikes and its representatives may assist in arranging descent, medical assistance, transportation, emergency evacuation, or helicopter rescue. The Client is responsible for medical, rescue, evacuation, and emergency costs unless covered by insurance.
Travel Insurance
Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance before participating in any Yeti Hikes trip. Insurance should ideally cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation, helicopter rescue, high-altitude trekking, trip cancellation, trip interruption, flight delays, lost baggage, and personal belongings. Yeti Hikes does not provide travel insurance unless expressly stated in writing.
Permits and Government Regulations
Yeti Hikes may arrange permits required for the Client's trip where such services are included in the booking. These may include trekking permits, TIMS, national park permits, conservation area permits, and other applicable government documentation. Clients must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, permit conditions, and instructions issued by Nepalese authorities.
Guides, Porters and Staff
Clients are expected to treat all guides, porters, drivers, hotel staff, and other personnel respectfully. Yeti Hikes does not tolerate abusive behavior, threatening behavior, harassment, discrimination, violence, or unlawful conduct. The Company may terminate a Client's participation where the Client's behavior creates a serious safety risk or materially disrupts the trip.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided according to the category stated in the confirmed itinerary. In remote trekking areas, accommodation may be provided in locally operated teahouses, lodges, guesthouses, or similar establishments. Facilities may vary considerably from those available in cities or international-standard hotels. If the specified accommodation becomes unavailable, Yeti Hikes may arrange a reasonably suitable alternative.
Transportation, Flights and Helicopters
Domestic flights, helicopter services, road transportation, and other transportation arrangements are subject to the conditions of the relevant operator. Flights and transportation may be delayed or cancelled due to weather, visibility, technical problems, operational restrictions, aircraft availability, road conditions, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond the Company's control. Yeti Hikes will make reasonable efforts to arrange alternatives where possible.
Personal Belongings
Clients are responsible for their passports, money, luggage, electronic devices, trekking equipment, and other personal belongings. Yeti Hikes is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless directly caused by proven negligence of the Company. Clients are advised to keep valuable items secure and maintain appropriate travel insurance.
Client Responsibilities
The Client agrees to provide accurate information, maintain valid travel documents, obtain the required visa, obtain appropriate travel insurance, follow reasonable safety instructions, follow Nepalese laws and regulations, respect local culture and communities, respect the environment and wildlife, pay applicable charges on time, and behave responsibly toward guides, porters, staff, and other travelers.
Environmental and Cultural Responsibility
Yeti Hikes promotes responsible and sustainable tourism. Clients are expected to avoid littering, respect local communities, respect religious and cultural traditions, avoid damaging natural or historical sites, follow conservation regulations, avoid unnecessary pollution, and respect wildlife and protected areas.
Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation and refund matters are governed by the separate Yeti Hikes Booking, Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Certain government, permit, flight, accommodation, transportation, supplier, administrative, and payment-processing costs may be non-refundable. Generally, no refund is provided for a Client who voluntarily drops out of a trip after the trip has started, and no refund is provided for unused services such as accommodation, transportation, meals, sightseeing, permits, or other itinerary components.
Force Majeure
Yeti Hikes shall not be liable for failure, delay, cancellation, or modification of services caused by circumstances beyond the Company's reasonable control, including earthquakes, floods, landslides, avalanches, extreme weather, pandemics, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, government restrictions, road closures, flight disruptions, political events, natural disasters, or other force majeure events.
Third-Party Service Providers
Certain services may be provided by independent third parties, including airlines, helicopter operators, hotels, teahouses, transportation companies, restaurants, payment providers, equipment suppliers, and other local service providers. These services are subject to the terms, conditions, operational procedures, and limitations of the respective providers. Yeti Hikes is not responsible for independent acts or omissions of third-party providers except to the extent required by applicable law.
Limitation of Liability
Yeti Hikes will exercise reasonable care in arranging and providing the services described in the confirmed booking. However, the Company shall not be responsible for losses, delays, injuries, additional expenses, inconvenience, or other consequences caused by circumstances beyond the Company's reasonable control, acts or omissions of independent third-party providers, weather or natural events, government restrictions, transportation disruptions, client negligence, or client failure to follow safety instructions.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Nepalese law.
Privacy and Personal Information
Yeti Hikes may collect and process personal information necessary to provide its services. This may include passport details, contact information, emergency contacts, booking information, payment-related information, and information required for permits and travel arrangements. Personal information may be shared with relevant service providers, government authorities, airlines, accommodation providers, payment providers, or other parties where reasonably necessary to provide the booked services or comply with legal requirements. Such material may be used on the Yeti Hikes website, social media, brochures, advertisements, promotional campaigns, and other Company marketing channels. Clients who do not wish to appear in promotional material should notify Yeti Hikes in writing before or during the trip.

Complaints
If a Client has a complaint regarding a service, the Client should notify the guide, trek leader, or Yeti Hikes representative as soon as reasonably possible. This gives the Company an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue while the trip is in progress. If the issue cannot be resolved during the trip, the Client should submit the complaint to Yeti Hikes in writing within a reasonable period after completion of the trip.
Dispute Resolution
Yeti Hikes and the Client agree to make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes through communication and good-faith negotiation. Where a dispute cannot be resolved mutually, it may be referred to the competent authorities or courts in accordance with the laws of Nepal.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of Nepal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through mutual agreement shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts and authorities of Nepal.
Amendments to Terms and Conditions
Yeti Hikes Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions when reasonably necessary to reflect changes in law, government regulations, travel requirements, supplier conditions, payment arrangements, Company procedures, or changes to the services offered.
